Pandurı

Originating from the East of Georgia this small instrument with 3 strings and a short neck is made from only one piece of wood and coated with a cover. There is an extension looking like a tuner box at the upper part of the instrument. The frets are made from wood. The numbers of the frets can range from 3 to 7. There are 4 frets on the ‘Panduri in our inventory. The octaves consists of 7 steps and the distance between each octave is nearly same. This feature causes a change in a person who used to hear specific tones automatically; however, this is a typical feature for traditional Georgian music.
