Gusli

Gusli is one of the oldest instruments of Russia. It is played by pulling the strings. While it consisted of few strings when it was produced, it got plenty of strings by time, and the instrument in our collection consists of 49 chromatic strings. Its nut is a double nut: the strings for the whole tones pass the top and the strings for the semitones the lower arch. The gamut is 4 octave. The instrument is hold straight and meanwhile the broad part of the instrument is pressed to the femur.  The fingers of the right hand are moved on the strings while the left hand is used for tuning or pressing the tuneless voices.
