It is a small kind of classical lute originating from Croatia. Having a long neck and a small egg shaped body, this instrument is known with its old name ‘Samica’. This old instrument has two pairs of metallic strings according to Farkas system and tight frets. While the bottom two strings are used to form a dual diatonic g-scale, the top two strings are used to form every tone according to chromatic ordering.
