This kind of zither played by a bow resembles to the zithers, which are played by pulling, without a handle to play much easier. These zithers are also played accompanied with a musical note list. While playing with a bow, each string produces one specific sound. The left hand is used for tuning. The instrument, on the right, is called “violin harp” or “violin zither”. In 1927 the instrument on the left was patented under the name “Geigenlaute” (Violin lute) by Heinrich Riller from Klingenthal. There are 3 metallic parts to stabilise the musical note list on the strings used as accompaniment. There are also 3 metallic parts for the left hand in order to play the strings much easier on the left.
