Tungna

In Nepal Tung(a)na is the name of a horse headed Dramnyen (Sgra-snyan). This four stringed instrument is produced by carving one piece of wood. The cover part of the instrument at the right side is attached with clips on the body. Only the lower part of the body is holed. The neck part of the instrument on the left is also holed and is closed with a wooden fingerboard. This instrument is used to accompany the songs and the dances by some tribes living at the border between Nepal and Tibet such as the Gurung, the Rais and the Limbus.
