Dilruba Esraj

Originating  from North India Esraj (left) and Dilruba (right) played by Bengals are two stringed instruments which are known with their similarities. While Dilruba has a little big and angled body, the body of  the Esraj is round and symmetrical and its handle is a bit thinner and has a more smooth voice. They have the same number of strings and same tuning. Dilruba takes its handle from Sitar and its body from Sarangi. It is possible to see another piece of wood passing from their neck part and this part is made for 17 resonance strings.
