The top of the Ektrara (= one string instrument) at the left side consists of a squash whose top is cut. This squash is covered with leather. There is a pipe made from a single steel. One wire passes a low bridge made from bamboo. The Dotora (right) from North India, is also common among the ‘Sadhus’ (holy men). The board of this instrument consists of a squash covered with leather. The two strings having the same tone are in a position as one on the top of the other and they are played by pulling by the fingers of left hand. They cannot be shortened. The player beat the trunk in a rhythmic way as playing a drum.
