The Kissar, a kind of lyre originating from Nubia, has a board covered with camel hair (right). Semsemiya is played in the areas located along the Suez canal. It is sometimes seen as a box shaped lyre but mostly it is bowl shaped. The lyre is mostly covered with coat but it is possible to see a wooden cover in Semsemiya
