Bulbul Tarang

The instrument in the for eground is a kind of hand-made wooden zither, called as Bulbul Tarang(= voice of thenightingale) and known also as Indian Banjo, consisting of five or seven metallic strings which are shortened by the tuners taken from type writer. This instrument is played by plectrum. It firstly appeared in Japan, named Taishogoto and was developed 1912 by Goro Morita from Nagoya in the time of Taishodynasty (1912-1926). It became a very popular instrument by time, however, it was forgotten later. It is assumed that GoroMorita saw an instrument resembling this one at a journey to Germany (1906-1908,maybethe ‘Akkordolia’) and designed this instrument by getting in spired.
