The instrument with two strings and a long handle which can be played alone or in a group has a very important place in the Egypt music culture. Its handle is made in the lower part from iron. The importance of this instrument was overshadowed by the European violin. The Alatiya music band consisting musicians imigrating from one village to another still use this instrument and they call this instrument Rebab or Rebaba in the band.
