BEGENA and KERAR

The neck part of the ‘angle’ is so curved that the strings are attached to the cover part nearly in a vertical position. Its neck part is usually placed to a attachement of the body. This harp originating from Namibia is made by carving only one single piece of wood and the parts with bow is streched backwards to extend the body. There is no wooden strip under the leather cover for fastening the strings which is very common among many harps. Stabilising process is provided by small wooden sticks which pass under the cover of this instrument, and it makes the force for the cover stronger.
