Bongo

Originating from south America and Africa, Bongo is a percussion instrument. A percussion with latin characteristic Bongo consists of animal skin stretched on the two circles which are 25cm in depthand have 19 and 21cm diameter. The circles are tied to the each others. It is generally played either on the lap or between the knees, and it is also played by being stabilised on a metal stickor in different positions. The barks of tree, animal skin, plastic, fiber glass, x-ray film, metal and synthetic materias are used to produce this instrument. There are some versions of it made from ceramic in Morocco. Bongo is a very suitable instrument for Spanish and Flamenco music and it is played by hands and fingers.
