Dsyboiwpntr2018-12-19T18:04:14+00:00This small instrument with a handle is known as the instrument of Lisu people living in the mountains in the region North Thailand/Myanmar /China. It has a round board covered with snake skin stabilised with needles. The relation between this instrument and the Chinese Sanxian is so apparent. There are ornamentations at the bottom part of the instrument and avoice hole. The upper part of the instrument neck is curled backwards. This instrument is played by men in Lisu community. The three metallic strings are played either by a piece of wood hang on the instrumentor by a plectrum looking like a horn. It has four different tones and there are different melody repertoires for each one.
