Harp Lute.wpntr2018-12-19T18:11:31+00:00The body of this old harp lute ( probably originates from the Ivory Coast/Senufo people) consists of a half calabash covered with animal skin. The cover made from animal skin is attached to the calabash with small plugs. The strings are attached to holes (2*6) of the bridge (the bridge is slightly curved backwards by leather ropes) and they are tied to the neck with leather rope at the upper part of the instrument. The handle part is curved and attached to the neck. There is rectangle sound hole on the body. There is usually an arch at the upper part of the neck. This instrument resembles the ‘Goni’ from Burkina Faso.
