Kabak Kemane

It is a kind of instrument originating from central Asia. Called such as Kabak, Kabak kemane, Rebab, İkliğ in Turkey, this instrument is used in Anatolia commonly. It is a kind of instrument played by a bow and has a resonator board. This board is covered with leather. It consists of a handle and board made from Kemane (it is a kind of plant), yellow squash or tree. While the strings were made from intestine, metallic strings are used in our times. Kemane is made by tying the horsetail hair. It is used as a solo or accompanied instrument among the Turkish folk music instruments.
