Kudumwpntr2018-12-19T18:19:17+00:00It is a percussion instrument originating from Anatolia. It is made by stretching camel or goat skin over two bodies which have different size and have bowl-shaped structures. They are played by soft or mild wooden sticks. The two bowls forming the body are produced from either wrought copper or tree. The reason why two bowls are in different size is to produce different tunes while playing. There is a hollow cylindirical part called as ‘Simit’ under the Kudüm (a small double drum) which helps the player and prevent the the changing of tune by behaving a block between the ground and Kudüm. It is used in Turkish art and Sufism musics.
