Stringed Tanburwpntr2018-12-19T18:37:23+00:00Originatig from Anatolia this instrument was invented by the Tanburi (the player of Tanbur) Cemil Bey in 19th century. The body part of the instrument (in the foreground) is made from various trees such as mahogany, wychelm, sycamore, silverbirch and juniperus. The soundboard of the instrument is made from mandate, goat and camelskin and the metallic soundpost is made as tuned. The instrument in the background has a pot-shaped ‘Cümbüş’ body attached with parchment and it takes its very long neck from ‘Saz’. It is used in Turkish classical music.
